Asakusa Sumi-e Workshop
Starting in the fall of 2024, we will be holding a sumi-e painting workshop in Asakusa Tokyo!
This is a one-off session, so you can participate whenever it is convenient for you.
Tourists and people from overseas are also welcome!
(We will provide explanations in English as much as possible.)
This is a workshop where you can casually experience ink painting, where you can finish your work in 2 hours and take it home as a souvenir .
Tools are also available for rental.
We offer a course where you can draw a motif that suits the season on shikishi(japanese illustration boad), and a course where you can draw the motif you want to draw in ink painting.
You can take the course just once or multiple times!

Location: Around Asakusa
We plan to hold the event within walking distance of Asakusa Station, but
we will decide on the venue once we know the number of participants, so
it may be in an area a little further away (Kinshicho, Akihabara, Asakusabashi, Ueno, etc.)
Tuition: 4,000 yen per class (2 hours)
If you are in Japan, please pay in advance or PayPay.
If you are from overseas, please pay by cash or PayPay on the day.
(We are considering card payments and PayPal, but I don’t think they will be available in time for the November 23rd class.)
Please contact us at least 10 days in advance if you wish to cancel.
If you cancel after this date, we will charge a 50% cancellation fee to cover the cost of the venue, etc.
What to bring: Writing pad （felt）, paperweight, brush, sumi(solid ink) or bokujyu (ink in a bottle), brush washer, painting plate, inkstone, towel, etc.
Writing pads and brushes can be rented if wish. Advance reservations are required, 500 yen per class.
Several sheets of paper will be provided for practice. (Those taking the Shikishi course will also be provided with one Shikishi) .
If you need more than that, you can bring your own or purchase on the day.
If you bring paper for practice, we recommend “Gasenshi paper for ink painting.”
Calligraphy paper is not suitable .
